About 71% of the Earth surface is covered with water. Saline water makes up about 97%of all the water on the Earth. Only approx.2.5% is fresh water, which we consume. The sources of salty water are the sea and oceans.
The sources of freshwater are river, lake, glaciers, polar ice, pond, stream, underground water etc.
We all know about the importance of water. Can we imagine our life without water? We can live without food for several days but we cannot live without water for a few days. Even our body system can not function without water.
Every system of the body from cells/ tissue to large vital organ requires water to function. If I talk about the body system, kindly see the following physiological benefits by intaking water:
POINTS TO BE CONSIDERED –
Water contributes to the maintenance of normal physical and cognitive functions.
Water contributes to the maintenance of normal thermoregulation.
1)Water carries nutrients to all cells in our body and oxygen to our brain.
2)Water allows the body to absorb and assimilate minerals, vitamins and amino acids, glucose and other substances.
3)Water flushes out toxins and waste.
